Best Sadaqah: Charity That Leaves a Competence

The Prophet ﷺ explained that the most rewarding charity is one that preserves the giver's competence and ability to remain self-sufficient, starting with those under their care.

Abu Hurairah reported the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) as saying:

The best sadaqah is that which leaves a competence; and begin with those for whom you are responsible.
